Blue Whistling Thrush

The blue whistling thrush is a bird in the Old World flycatchers family Muscicapidae.

Traits: violet blue, shiny spangling on upper body: head, neck, upper back, upper wing, chest, part of belly.

The genus name Myophonus is from the Ancient Greek muia meaning "fly" and phoneus meaning "slayer".
caeruleus, coerulea: Latin caeruleus azure -blue. dark blue likely from caelum, "sky."
