Hoi An in Quang Nam Province, in the Central Coast of Vietnam, was a busy international trading port in the 16-18th century. The river silted up in the 19th century which made it too shallow for a port, hence the port relocation to Da Nang (Tourane). Nowadays, visiting Hoi An you can still adore the charming ancient architecture and the quaint ambiance dating back to its heydays.
The Old Town of Hoi An has always been a favorite spot for AdventureGreen's travelers journeying between the North and the South of the country. Houses in Hoi An were once merchant houses, warehouses… Nowadays they are turned into museums, restaurants, cafes, shop houses,… Much of the architecture has been preserved. The best things about these houses are the architecture and the atmosphere. You’ll lean a lot about the Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese influence in these structures. Hoi An is 30km southeast of Da Nang and 130km southeast of Hue. The road from Hue to Da Nang then Hoi An has some coastal legs with wonderful landscape and amazing lifestyle. Traveling from one destination to another, you can choose to go by car, by daily train, local bus, motorbike or bicycle. The trip by motorcycle or bicycle offers captivating scenery.
