Blue-fronted Redstart

The blue-fronted redstart (Phoenicurus frontalis) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae, the Old World flycatchers. 
The bird breeds in central China and the Himalayas and winters in the southern foothills, as well as in southern Yunnan, the Patkai and northern Indochina. 


Redstart means a red start or a red tail (start means an old name for tail English). The species is of the genus Phoenicurus.
The name Phoenicurus is from Ancient Greek φοινιξ (phoinix), "(Phoenician) crimson/purple", and ουροσ (-ouros) -"tailed".
