Zappey's flycatcher (Cyanoptila cumatilis) is a songbird in the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae.
The bird breeds in central China and winters to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Java.
The genus name Cyanoptila comes from ancient Greek: "kuanos" meaning dark-blue; and "ptilon" – plumage.
cumatilis Latin cumatilis sea-coloured, blue (Greek kuma wave).
