Lao Cai Province is located in the north-west of Vietnam, 380km from Hanoi. The province with mountainous terrain is home to the highest peaks in Vietnam. Nam Sai Commune is 30km south of Sapa Town, home to the Tay, Dzao, Giay and Xa Pho Ethnic Groups. Nam Sai is not visited as often by the tourists to Sapa and remains as calm as ever. The surroundings of the commune include forests, mountains, waterfalls, rivers and stunning rice terraces. As part of community-based tourism program by the authority of Lao Cai Province, there are families authorized to provide homestay to the travelers nowadays. Ta Van Chu is a Flower Hmong Commune in Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province. The commune, which is 20km north-west of Bac Ha Township, is sandwiched between The Mountain of Nan Sin (Si Ma Cai District) and Cao Son (Muong Khuong District).

Close to the commune, there is a dense forest and the Chay River awaiting the adventure travelers to explore. There are 20 households in Ta Van Chu that provide homestay as part of community-based tourism program by Lao Cai Province.
