Long An Province is situated to the north of the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Long An is part of the Dong Thap Muoi Area famed for vast area of wild lotus swamps, yet tourism is still in its infancy.
Long An Geography
Long An is bordered to the north by Cambodia and Tay Ninh Province; to the northeast, east, and southeast by Ho Chi Minh City; to the southeast by Ba Ria-Vung Tau, to the south by Tien Giang, to the west by Dong Thap.
The capital city of Long An Province is Tan An City, 55km south-west of Ho Chi Minh City (also called Saigon).

Long An has two seasons per year: dry season from December to April and rainy season from May to November. The annual rainfall in Long An is 966-1325mm. The temperatures are pleasant in the period from September through February. Warm and hot temperatures are found in March – May.
