Bird Watching Tour at Cuc Phuong National Park Overview

Cuc Phuong National Park includes multi-stratification primeval forest on limestone mountains and in valleys surrounded by limestone mountains. The park is among the richest national parks in the country in biodiversity.

Accommodation at the park headquarters is clean and with en-suite bathroom and basic facilities. All meals on the tour are included.

Detailed itinerary

Day1 Hanoi - Cuc Phuong National Park/Birding around the Park Headquarters (specialist tour guide at Cuc Phuong included) (L/D)

0800 Our driver picks you up from your hotel and we travel to Cuc Phuong National Park.
1100 Arrive at Cuc Phuong, have some refreshment and easy stroll around the national park head quarters.
1200 Lunch.
1300-1600 Bird-watching on a trail near the national park headquarters.
Overnight at Cuc Phuong.

Day2 Cuc Phuong Full Day Birding (specialist tour guide included) (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the park.
Enjoy full day bird-watching.
We venture further into the jungle for our birding today. Bird species here include Grey Peacock-Pheasant, Tonkin Partridge (or scaly breasted partridge, endemic), Brown Hornbill, Bar-bellied and Blue-rumped and Eared Pitta, White-winged Magpie, Sultan Tit, Red-Vented Barbet, Limestone Wren-Babbler (Annam limestone babbler - endemic), Fujian Niltava, Pied Falconet, and Red Headed Trogon.
Overnight at Cuc Phuong.

Tips: As we make our way into the forest early, Malayan night herons (also known as Malaysian night heron and tiger bittern) may be spotted on the roads.

Day3 Cuc Phuong-Hanoi (with specialist guide for birding)/Depart Hanoi (B/L)

Breakfast at the park.
0800-1130 Have the whole morning birding on a small trail in the forest. Possible bird species spotted include Spot-bellied Eagle-Owl, Ruddy Kingfisher, Silver-breasted Broadbill and White-tailed Flycatcher.
1200 Lunch.
1300-1630 Transfer back to Hanoi.
