Javan Shortwing
(Hoét đuôi cụt xanh, Brachypteryx montana)

The Javan shortwing (Brachypteryx montana) (formerly the white-browed shortwing) is a species of bird of the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae.
The bird species is endemic to the island of Java.

Muscicapa comes from the Latin musca meaning a fly, and capere to catch.
The genus Brachypteryx from the classical Greek brakhus mean "short" and pterux meaning "wing".
The specific epithet montana means "mountainous" in Latin, originating from the adjective montanus (of mountains) and noun mons (mountain).
