Birdwatching and Bird Species at Van Long Wetland Reserve Vietnam

Van Long Wetland Reserve is 80km south of Hanoi via Route 1. The nature reserve, which covers an area of 3,000 hectares, is home to the critically endangered species of Delacour's langur which is found at Cuc Phuong, Van Long and Kim Bang Forest only.

Van Long Nature Reserve is also the destination for several bird species which migrate from cold northern territories to warmer southern land during the winter. Visiting Van Long in the period between November through April, we can sight several aquatic bird species: Asian openbill, common kingfisher, white-throated kingfisher, little egret, medium egret, common moorhen, northern pintail, gadwall, merganser...
