Birdwatching and Bird Species at Cuc Phuong National Park Vietnam

Cuc Phuong National Park is in Ninh Binh Province, 130km south of Hanoi. The national park includes primary forest on limestone mountains. The forest of Cuc Phuong is thick which requires special skills from twitchers to have great bird photography.

Cuc Phuong is among the most popular Top Birding Spots in Vietnam. The national park is home to the Delacour's Langur, which is critically endangered and which is found only in the area of Cuc Phuong, Van Long (in Ninh Binh Province) and Kim Bang Forest of Ha Nam Province. Specialy birds at Cuc Phuong include bar-bellied pitta and limestone wren-babbler, or Annam limestone babbler (Gypsophila annamensis), Tokin partridge (Green-legged partridge)... 

Cuc Phuong and several places in northern Vietnam are within the bird migration route and depending on the time of year that different bird species are sighted at Cuc Phuong.

The best time for bird watching at Cuc Phuong National Park is from November through April. The most quiet time for birding at Cuc Phuong is in between late May through June.
