1/ Have an easy beach vacation on the Nhat Le Beach and Bao Ninh Beach
Both beaches are in Dong Hoi Quang Binh. There are several hotels and resorts ranging from basic accommodation to luxury in Dong Hoi City and on these beaches. The beaches are mostly quiet in the winter but very crowded during the summer when the Vietnamese are on holidays.

2/ Do not miss the fishing village of Bao Ninh
The village is right on the Bao Ninh Beach with a white stretch of land extending for a few kilometers. There several opportunities for great photographs of fishermen and villagers at work. A stroll on the beach is extremely pleasant in late afternoon.

3/ Do not miss the exotic market of Dong Hoi
The market by the Nhat Le River is exotic and vivid by several activities; this can be the site can be the stage for great photography.

4/Visit Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park which is home to some of the most impressive caves in the World
The national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it has a bit of everything for everyone. You can go on an easy tour visiting the Paradise Cave and the Phong Nha Cave, the latter includes a boat trip on the Son River for 30 minutes each way.

Nature and wildlife lovers may like to have a tour to the Botanical Garden in the forest of the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. The botanical garden is 12km from the Tourist Centre of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. The total area of the botanical garden is 40 hectares with sites of interest including the Windy Waterfall, sample of tropical forest, Vang Anh Lake, wildlife and semi-wildlife… There is a walking trail of 4km through lovely nature.

Enthusiastic adventurers may want to go caving to explore those among the most impressive caves in the World. The Son Doong Cave requires quite some preparations before each adventure which are costly, while most other caves can be done with less physical and financial challenges.

A part from those mentioned above, Quang Binh has over 120km of coastline with several fishing villages on the seaside and 5 river mouths. There are several parts of Ho Chi Minh Trails that are kept intact nowadays. An adventure traveller who loves straying can also find fantastic moments in several spots in the province.

5/Other sites and activities of interest
There are several homestays at the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park with dirt cheap accommodations, cheap and great food and drinks. Staying in idyllic countryside you can go cycling, walking or kayaking, ziplining and have quite a few fun experiences.

How to get to Quang Binh and how to get around

1/ There are quite some daily flights between Hanoi – Dong Hoi and Ho Chi Minh City – Dong Hoi by different air carriers.

2/ There are several trains commuting between Hanoi and Saigon every which stop at Dong Hoi. The train station is right in the city.

3/There are several local buses and tourists buses between Dong Hoi and Phong Nha and other destinations in Vietnam: Hanoi, Nghe An, Quang Tri (DMZ), Hue and Da Nang.

4/Getting around Quang Bing is fairly easy nowadays with different buses companies operating between different tourists attractions in the province. Alternatively you can hire bicycle or motorbike for adventures on your own.
