Lam Dong is composed of two plateaus: Lang Biang (Lam Vien) and Di Linh of which most of the terrain is higher than 800m in altitude. Da Lat, the provincial capital of Lam Dong, is on the altitudes of over 1,400m above sea level. The land offers an amazing diverse of bird species with many endemic ones.

Lam Dong Province along Da Lat has a temperate climate with temperatures ranging around 17-26 Degrees Celsius. The rainy season is from May to December and it's the dry season at the other time of the year. The area may have high rainfalls in July, August, September and October which may cause flash floods and landslides.
