 The Muong Lo Valley in Nghia Lo Town, Yen Bai Province is the second biggest valley in the mountainous North-West of Vietnam. There are 17 ethnic groups inhabiting in the valley of which the Thai is the majority. Thai idyllic villages, suspension bridges, hotspring bathing, the Ngoi Thia River, historical sites… are the highlights of the trip.

Detailed itinerary

Day1 Hanoi – Duong Lam Village – Thai Village Muong Lo Valley (Nghia Lo) (L/D)
0800 A.M Our team picks you up from your hotel in Hanoi and we travel via route 32 to Son Tay Town. At Son Tay, visit the ancient village of Duong Lam where you can learn about the village life of the Viet People in the past and their ancient architecture. We'll also visit Mia Pagoda with well-preserved architecture from the 17th century.

Then follow a scenic country road passing through Thanh Son and Tan Son Districts of Phu Tho Province. There are lots of photo opportunities where you can capture the breathtaking landscapes of mountains, rice fields, tea plantations…
Lunch at Thu Cuc.

Continue our adventure past Deo Khe – a high mountain between Phu Tho and Yen Bai. Stop for taking in the splendid nature on the pass. Then take the mountainous road to the Muong Lo Valley. Arriving at our Thai hosts' family in the early afternoon, check-in and have tea.

The rest of the day is for cycling or visiting villages either on foot or by car or by bicycle. Later in the afternoon, you may like to bathe at a hotspring outside of Nghia Lo Town. There's a chance for you to learn how to cook Thai food with our hosts in the early evening.
After dinner, enjoy a mesmerizing Thai dance by local performers.

Day2 Muong Lo Valley/Nghia Lo – Hanoi (B/L)
Breakfast at the family.
More visit to villages in the Muong Lo Valley and historical sites.
Lunch at the family.
Road trip back to Hanoi. On the way back you may like to recall your experience and have good comparison of village life in the lowland and in the mountains. We arrive in late afternoon. We trust you have had a wonderful cultural trip with AdventureGreen.
