Anthreptes is a genus of the sunbird family, Nectariniidae.

Brown-throated sunbird 
(Hút mật họng nâu, Anthreptes malacensis), also known as the plain-throated sunbird

The brown-throated sunbird (Anthreptes malacensis), also known as the plain-throated sunbird, is a species of bird in the family Nectariniidae. It is found in a wide range of semi-open habitats in south-east Asia, ranging from Myanmar to the Lesser Sundas and west Philippines.

Leptocoma is a genus of sunbirds found from tropical South Asia to Papua New Guinea. Its members are sometimes included in Nectarinia.
The name Leptocoma combines the Ancient Greek words leptos "delicate" or "fine" and kome "hair".

Earlier considered conspecific with Van Hasselt's sunbird (Leptocoma brasiliana)
The specific name sperata is Latin for "bride" or "betrothed".

2/ Copper-throated sunbird (Hút mật lưng đen, Leptocoma calcostetha)
The species name calcostetha originates from the words khalkos which means bronze; and stēthos which means breast.

3/ Van Hasselt's sunbird (Leptocoma brasiliana)

Cinnyris is a genus of sunbirds. Its members are sometimes included in Nectarinia.
The name Cinnyris is from the Ancient Greek kinnyris, an unknown small bird mentioned by Hesychius of Alexandria.

1/ Purple sunbird (Hút mật họng đen, Cinnyris asiaticus) 

2/ Garden sunbird (Hút mật họng tím, Cinnyris jugularis)
previously known as the olive-backed sunbird.
The specific name jugularis is Medieval Latin for 'of the throat'.

The purple sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) is a small bird in the sunbird family Nectariniidae. 
The bird is found in parts of the Arabian peninsula and South and Southeast Asia. 

The name Cinnyris is from the Ancient Greek kinnyris, an unknown small bird mentioned by Hesychius of Alexandria.

Ornate sunbird (Cinnyris ornatus)

The ornate sunbird (Cinnyris ornatus) is a species of bird in the sunbird family Nectariniidae that is endemic to Mainland Southeast Asia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo and the Lesser Sunda Islands.

The ornate sunbird is resident in Myanmar, southern China, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.


The name Cinnyris is from the Ancient Greek kinnyris, an unknown small bird mentioned by Hesychius of Alexandria.
The specific epithet is Latin meaning "ornate" or "adorned".

Aethopyga is a genus of birds in the sunbird family Nectariniidae. 
Nectariniidae: New Latin, from Nectarinia, type genus + -idae.
The name combines the Ancient Greek aithos meaning "fire" or "burning heat" with puge meaning "rump".

The genus Kurochkinegramma is a genus of the sunbird family Nectariniidae. The genus contains only one species: The purple-naped spiderhunter or purple-naped sunbird (Kurochkinegramma hypogrammicum).

formerly placed in the genus Hypogramma.

The genus Chalcoparia is a genus of the sunbird family Nectariniidae. The genus contains only one species: ruby-cheeked sunbird (Chalcoparia singalensis).
The genus name is from Ancient Greek khalkopareos meaning "with cheeks of bronze".

The family Nectariniidae of passerine birds includes sunbirds and spiderhunters of the order Passeriformes.

Hemiprocne is a single genus of the treeswift (or crested swift) family Hemiprocnidae.

1/ Grey-rumped treeswift (Yến mào, Hemiprocne longipennis)
2/ Crested treeswift (Hemiprocne coronata)


Hemiprocne: Greek hemi- half-, small, akin to; Latin progne: swallow.
