Weather and Climate, Best Time to Visit

Soc Trang has a tropical monsoon climate: dry season from December or January (depending on each year) through April, rainy season from May through October or November (depending on each year).

The temperatures are pleasant in the months from late May to February; warm in March and April and May.

The rainy season can be divided into two periods:

- May through August: daily short-lived rain which should not affect your travel in the province;

- September through October (sometimes into November): torrential long-lasting rain which may make your trips not that pleasant; streets in cities may be flooded.

It is worth mentioning that the flood season in the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam is from October through November during which the Mekong Delta offers plenty of food to wildlife species. It means that this is the time to go for bird watching or discover the amazing lifestyle in the region.
