Trekking in Pu Luong Nature Reserve is one of our Vietnam adventure tours through the untouched nature of Pu Luong for 4 days, 3 nights.

The nature reserve, which is 200km from Hanoi, possesses fresh natural beauty and not visited often by tourists. The terrains at Pu Luong include high karst mountains, forested hills, rice terraces...

The Ma river and the myriad streams provide the vital source of water for the rich fauna and flora, and for the ethnic Muong and Thai in the nature reserve. Pu Luong is by far among the few attractions in Vietnam which are off the tourist track.

Starting in Hanoi, our adventure brings us through the scenic nature of the countryside and of the wild mountains of Hoa Binh Province. We have stops every now and again on the road for you to take in the fresh scenery. Arriving at Mai Chau at mid day, we have lunch at a local Thai family who live their life in houses on stilts. After lunch, we follow the Ma River to Pu Luong Nature Reserve and start our trek at Sai Village. The trek today is more or less easy for 2-3 hours. Our first night is at Hang Village.

On the second day, we leave Hang Village after breakfast. The trek is along a scenic stream with forested mountains all around. The gradients are steep sometimes, but you don't normally feel tired, thanks to the fresh natural beauty and the joyful music played by running water down the streams. Our picnic lunch is in the wild and we arrive at Kho Muong Village in early afternoon. The total trekking time today is about 5-6 hours. Kho Muong is another Thai village with idyllic natural settings. You can spend the afternoon with the village kids, or visit the rice terraces or the cave.

There are plenty of opportunities for you to take photos of the villages down the valleys while we trek on the high mountain slopes. Our home tonight is at Hin Village, amid a breezy large valley. The house is beautifully located right on the rice field with great view of the surrounding mountains.

Our our last day, we take steep gradients on a karst mountain through dense forests and villages to Ton Village, where we take our vehicle back to Hanoi. Picnic lunch is en route and the trekking time is 5-6 hours.
