Trekking Tour in Mai Chau 4 Days

Trekking Tour in Mai Chau is a hard adventure tour to the north western mountains of Vietnam, in Mai Chau District Hoa Binh Province, for 4 days 3 nights.

The tour features the fresh nature as well as the untouched traditional culture of the ethnic minorities who inhabit in these scenic valleys. Hoa Binh is relatively off the tourist track and it is more likely that you won't encounter other travelers on the trek.

On the tour, we trek for 4-5 hours a day, except for the first and the last days of the trip when we trektrekking in Hang Kia, Mai Chau for about 2-3 hours each. The region that we trek through does not have medicare readily available, please bring along your first aid kits, medicine, insect repellent, degradable soap before departure.

It is possible to trek all year round in Hoa Binh Province, but the best time should be from January to April. In May – October, there may be torrential rain that makes the trekking trails slippery. It's normally cold in Hoa Binh in November–December. The trekking routes include forest trails, rocky paths, village dirt road, walking trails amid rice terraces.

Accommodations on the tour are homestay at ethnic houses. Our ethnic hosts are friendly and genuine. All the meals on the tour are prepared by our local cook. We do try to introduce dishes from the local ethnic groups from time to time.Mai Chau Valley

On the first day, we travel by car for 4 hours to Xa Linh Village where we lunch and refreshment before trekking for 2.5-3 hours on a village road, rocky path and jungle trail to Hang Kia Village. Hang Kia is located in a heavenly valley which is filled with flowers in January-February and October-November. The village is inhabited by Hmong People.

On the second day, we trek mostly downhill through a dense forest in the morning. The trek offers spectacular view of terraces, valleys and ethnic villages. In the afternoon, our trek is on flat terrain, through villages and rice fields. Tonight, we stay at Van Village, a White Thai community.

On the third day, we trek for about 4 hours through villages, rice fields and bamboo forest. We arrive at Buoc Village in Sam Khoe Commune and have time for exploring the community for the remainder of the day. Buoc Village is a White Thai community.Food on the trekking tour in Mai Chau

On the final day, we trek for 2-3 hours on a village dirt road to Van Mai Village where our car transfers us to Pom Coong Village or Lac Village for lunch. After lunch, we travel by car for 4 hours back to Hanoi where our adventure concludes.
