The yellow-vented flowerpecker (Pachyglossa chrysorrhea) is a species of bird in the family flowerpecker Dicaeidae.

Dicaeidae: Greek dikaion supposedly an Indian bird mentioned by Aelianus.
The genus name Pachyglossa combines the Ancient Greek παχυς/pakhus meaning "thick" with γλωσσα/glōssa meaning "tongue", "mouth" (or "bill").
