Siberian house martin or eastern house martin
(Delichon lagopodum)
Formerly considered conspecific with the western house martin.

The Siberian house martin or eastern house martin (Delichon lagopodum) is a passerine bird in the swallow family Hirundinidae.
The bird breeds in rocky areas of northeastern Russia, Mongolia and northern China and winters in Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Hirundinidae: Latin hirundo swallow.
The name of the genus, "Delichon", is an anagram of the Ancient Greek term chelidon meaning swallow.

The term lagopodum is derived from Greek and Latin roots, meaning "hare's foot" or "hare-footed" referring to the bird's feathered feet.
Greek roots: The name comes from Greek words lagos (λαγώς), meaning "hare," and pous (πούς), meaning "foot".
Latin connection: This Greek root was Latinized to form the word lagopoda (lagos + podos), referring to a type of bird with "hare's feet".
