Short-tailed drongo (Dicrurus striatus)

The short-tailed drongo (Dicrurus striatus) is a species of passerine bird in the family Dicruridae. 
The bird is endemic to the Philippines.
It was formerly conspecific with the Hair-crested drongo.

Dicruridae or Dicrurus is derived from the Greek words dikros meaning forked, ouros meaning tailed.
"Striatus" is a Latin word meaning "striped," "streaked," or "furrowed". It comes from the Latin word stria, meaning "furrow" or "channel".
