Cuc Phuong National Park is in Ninh Binh Province, 130km south of Hanoi. The national park includes primary forest on limestone mountains. The forest of Cuc Phuong is thick which requires special skills from twitchers to have great bird photography.

Da Lat is situated on the Lang Biang Plateau with altitudes of 1,500m above sea level. The city is surrounded by pine hills, forests. The area of Da Lat and the surroundinds are dubbed as an Endemic Bird Area thanks to high concentration of bird species.

Van Long Wetland Reserve is 80km south of Hanoi via Route 1. The nature reserve, which covers an area of 3,000 hectares, is home to the critically endangered species of Delacour's langur which is found at Cuc Phuong, Van Long and Kim Bang Forest only.

Di Linh is a district of Lam Dong Province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Di Linh is slightly off-the-way and hence little visited by most birders to Vietnam. But this area offers an amazing wide range of surprises to the birding enthusiasts who venture off the well trodden paths and allow for some time to be charmed by the amazing variety of endemic, migratory bird species.

The Dong Nai River starts its course in the Central Highlands of Vietnam and makes its course downward though the lowland before discharging its water into the East Sea in Saigon Ho Chi Minh City. The river flows around the the famed Cat Tien National Park with amazing avifauna. 

Top birding spots in Vietnam include national parks, nature reserves and wetland reserves in southern Vietnam, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, in northern Vietnam and in the Central Coast of Vietnam.

Lam Dong is composed of two plateaus: Lang Biang (Lam Vien) and Di Linh of which most of the terrain is higher than 800m in altitude. Da Lat, the provincial capital of Lam Dong, is on the altitudes of over 1,400m above sea level. The land offers an amazing diverse of bird species with many endemic ones.

The Cat Tien National Park is among the best birding sites in Vietnam. While the national park stretches in the provinces of Dong Nai, Lam Dong and Binh Phuoc we mostly enter the national park at Tan Phu, Dong Nai.

Van Long Nature Reserve is flooded land covering 3,000 hectares with ranges of karst mountains all around in Gia Van Commune, Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh Province. The nature reserve is 90km south of Hanoi via Route 1, 18km northwest of Ninh Binh City.
