Abbott's Babbler
(Chuối tiêu mỏ to, Malacocincla abbotti)

Abbott's babbler is a species of bird in the family Pellorneidae.

Difference between Abbott's babbler vs Buff-breasted babbler:
    - Abbott's. Heavy grey bill, extensive grey eye-ring, rich orange brown lower belly and undertail coverts, short tail.
    - Buff-breasted has a slighter and paler-colored bill, a much longer tail and is uniformly buff-brown in colour.

Pellorneum, Pellorneidae: combines the Ancient Greek pellos meaning "dark-coloured" with orneon meaning "bird".
The genus name Malacocincla combines the Ancient Greek malakos meaning "soft" with modern Latin cinclus, meaning "thrush"; referring to the birds' full and drooping plumage.
The specific name abbotti was chosen by Blyth to honour the specimen collector, Lieutenant Colonel J. R. Abbott (1811–1888).
