Alpine thrush 
(Zoothera mollissima)
Formerly known as the plain-backed thrush, then split into:
- The Alpine thrush, 
- Sichuan thrush,
- and the newly discovered Himalayan thrush.

The alpine thrush (Zoothera mollissima) is a species of bird in the thrush family.
The bird is found from the north-western Himalayas to southern China.

The genus name Zoothera combines the Ancient Greek zōon meaning "animal" with -thēra meaning "hunter".

The long-billed thrush (Zoothera monticola) is a species of bird in the family Turdidae. 
The bird is found from the Himalayas to Myanmar and Vietnam.

The bird is found from the central and eastern Himalayas to south-central and south-western China.

Sichuan thrush

The bird breeds in central China and winters in northern Vietnam.

White's thrush (Zoothera aurea) is a member of the thrush family, Turdidae.
Once considered a subspecies of the scaly thrush (Zoothera dauma).

The specific aurea is from Latin aureus, "golden".
