  • Cisticolidae

    The family Cisticolidae is a group of about 160 warblers, small passerine birds found mainly in warmer southern regions of the Old World. 
    Formerly included within the Old World warbler family Sylviidae.
    The name Cisticoladae from Cisticola, which is from Ancient Greek kisthos, "rock-rose", and Latin colere, "to dwell".... cisticola).

  • Corydon

    Corydon is a genus of suboscine passerine birds in the family the Eurylaimidae of the order Passeriformes.

    1/ Dusky broadbill (Mỏ rộng đen, Corydon sumatranus)

  • Cutia

    The cutias are the passerine bird genus Cutia in the family Leiothrichidae.
    The name is derived from the Nepali name khatya or khutya for the type species, the Himalayan cutia (C. nipalensis).
    Related to the alcippes and the laughingthrushes.

  • Cyanoderma

    Cyanoderma is a genus of passerine birds in the Old World babbler family Timaliidae. 
    Many of these species were formerly placed in the genus Stachyris. 
    The name combines the Ancient Greek kuanos meaning "dark-blue" with derma meaning "skin".

    Earlier name was Stachyris chrysaea.

    Once placed in Stachyris, and Stachyridopsis

  • Cymbirhynchus

    Cymbirhynchus is a genus of suboscine passerine birds in the family the Eurylaimidae of the order Passeriformes.
    The generic name is from the Greek kymbe which could mean either "small boat", "head" or "an unknown bird", and rhynkhos meaning bill. 

    1/ Black-and-red broadbill (Cymbirhynchus macrorhynchos) 
    The specific name macrorhynchos comes from the Greek makrorrhynkhos meaning long-billed.

  • Delichon

    Delichon is a small genus of passerine birds that belongs to the swallow family and contains four species called house martins.
    The name of the genus, "Delichon", is an anagram of the Ancient Greek term chelidon meaning swallow.

    dasypus is from Greek meaning "rough-legged".

    2/ Nepal house martin (Nhạn hông trắng Nêpan, Delichon nipalense)
    nipalense refers to Nepal, where the type specimen was obtained.

    3/ Western house martin (Nhạn hông trắng Xibêri, Delichon urbicum), sometimes called the common house martin, northern house martin or, particularly in Europe, just house martin
    The species name urbicum (urbica until 2004, due to a misunderstanding of Latin grammar) means "of the town" in Latin.

    The flowerpeckers, once included in an enlarged sunbird family Nectariniidae, are a family, Dicaeidae, of passerine birds.

    Dicaeidae, Dicaeum: Greek dikaion supposedly an Indian bird mentioned by Aelianus.

  • Emberizidae

    The buntings are a group of Old World passerine birds forming the genus Emberiza, the only genus in the family Emberizidae.

  • Erpornis

    The genus Erpornis is a bird species in the family Vireonidae of the order Passeriformes.

    "Vireo" is a Latin word referring to a green migratory bird; other possible meanings: green, fresh, verdant, vigorous...
    Erpornis : Greek word herpo – to creep about ; ornis- bird.

    Formerly placed in Yuhina and often still misleadingly called "white-bellied yuhina".

  • Eurylaimidae

    The Eurylaimidae are a family of suboscine passerine birds of the order Passeriformes. The birds are found from the eastern Himalayas to Indonesia and the Philippines. The birds of the family are commonly called broadbill.

    The name means 'broad throat', from the Greek eurus ('broad, wide') and laimos ('throat').

    The genus was recently reestablished for the typical fulvettas, which had, for long, been placed in in the Timaliidae (Old World babbler) genus Alcippe.
    The species of this genus are closely related to the parrotbills.

  • Garrulax

    Garrulax is a genus of passerine birds in the laughingthrush family Leiothrichidae.

    1/ Chinese hwamei or melodious laughingthrush (Họa mi, Garrulax canorus)
    The name "hwamei" comes from its Chinese name which means "painted eyebrow", referring to the distinctive marking around the bird's eyes. 
    The specific epithet is Latin meaning "melodious" (from canere "to sing").

    The name of the genus combines the Ancient Greek ionthos "young hair" or "down" with the Neo-Latin cinclus "thrush".
    Previously assigned to the genus Garrulax.

  • Kurochkinegramma

    The genus Kurochkinegramma is a genus of the sunbird family Nectariniidae. The genus contains only one species: The purple-naped spiderhunter or purple-naped sunbird (Kurochkinegramma hypogrammicum).

    1/ Purple-naped spiderhunter or purple-naped sunbird (Hút mật bụng vạch, Kurochkinegramma hypogrammicum)
    formerly placed in the genus Hypogramma.

  • Laniellus

    Laniellus is a genus of passerine birds in the family Leiothrichidae of the order Passeriformes.
    formerly placed in the genus Crocias.

    Ancient Greek κροκίας (krokías, “a saffron-colored stone”)

    1/ Grey-crowned crocias (Mi Núi Bà, Laniellus langbianis)
    endemic to Vietnam.
