Saxicola est un genre d'oiseaux de l'ordre des Passeriformes et de la famille des muscicapidés. 
Ses espèces sont appelées tariers et parfois traquets.

Muscicapidae: Muscicapa vient du mot latin musca signifiant mouche, et capere signifiant rattraper, attraper, gober.
Saxicola mot latin: saxum: rocher + incola: habiter, demeurer.

The shortwings are colourful, medium-sized, mostly insectivorous, Old World Flycatcher family Muscicapidae. Some taxonomists place the birds in the in the genus the thrush family Turdidae.

Tarsiger is a genus of six species of birds in the family Muscicapidae.
The genus name is from Ancient Greek tarsos, "flat of the foot" and Latin gerere, "to carry".
