    leucoryphus: Derived from the Ancient Greek leukos (λευκός), meaning "white," and koruphos (κορυφή/κορυφός), meaning "crowned" or "head", meaning: "White-crowned" or "White-headed," referring to the pale plumage on the head of the adult bird.

    The white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) is a large bird of prey, widely distributed across temperate Eurasia.
    This bird breeds from as far west as Greenland and Iceland to as far east as Hokkaido, Japan.
