The Muong Hoa Valley at Sapa

The mains electricity voltage in Vietnam is 220V, 50 cycles. Mains electricity of 110V is not commonly found in the country. Electrical sockets are normally for plugs with two round/flat pins. However, some hotels may have socket outlets which accommodate plugs with three round/rectangular pins.

Some of you who come from Japan, USA, Canada and others which uses 100/120V 50/60Hz, then bringing electrical appliances to Vietnam you may need a voltage converter which transform the power outlet into one your appliance can use.

You may also need a power adapter that allows you to plug your device into a Vietnamese power outlet.  Most hotels have them available to lend to in-house guests. Else, they can be easily acquired from local electrical equipment shops.
