Xam Khoe (or Sam Khoe), a commune of Mai Chau District, is 20km from Mai Chau Town or the famed Lac Village. The landscape and population of Xam Khoe are basically similar to those near Mai Chau Town; it is just that Xam Khoe is more peaceful and pristine as fewer visitors make their way up here.

Xam Khoe Mai Chau Tour is a cultural adventure to the less-visited Xam Khoe Commune of Mai Chau district, 20km from Mai Chau Town. The trip is for 2 days, 1 night.
Accommodations at Xam Khoe include homestay at local Thai ethnic families who live in houses on stilts or at ecological lodges. Wherever you choose to stay on the trip, you’ll get hot shower and Western toilet.

Detailed itinerary
Day1: Hanoi - Mai Chau – Xam Khoe (L/D)
AdventureGreen tour guide and driver pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi and we soon find ourselves traveling on a country road, then mountainous road with captivating landscape on the way. There are several photo opportunities for us to break the journey.
We’ll arrive at Mai Chau Town in about 3 hours and travel further into the less visited corners of this land which is inhabited mostly the Thai People. Once we have passed the town, the landscape is much quieter and the traffic is mostly free. We’ll arrive at our hosts’ family in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we’ll have time cycling further into the mountains visiting different Thai villages.
Optional: Thai Traditional Performance or campfire can be arranged with additional cost.
Day2: Xam Khoe - Mai Chau – Hanoi (B/L)
Have breakfast right at the homestay or the lodge.
Enjoy a walking tour exploring the communities nearby. We’ll visit a workshop learning how they make Thai traditional brocade, getting lost amid Thai villages, bamboo woods and terraced rice fields.
Lunch at the hosts’ house/lodge.
After lunch, travel back to Mai Chau Town and visit the Lac Village and Pom Coong Village. Have time to pick up some souvenirs. Then, take the road trip back to Hanoi. We trust you had a great time in Xam Khoe - Mai Chau with AdventureGreen.
