November is in between autumn and winter in the North of Vietnam, is the rainy and typhoon season in the Central Coast of Vietnam, about to be the end of the rainy season in the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam.

There may be occasional spells of cool Northeasterly Monsoon in northern Vietnam making the air dry and the temperatures pleasant. There are more rains and long-lasting rains in the Central Coast of Vietnam. The Central Highlands and South Vietnam may or may not have nice days at the end of the rainy season depending on each year.

1/ Typhoon No. 5 in Vietnam in 2019 (Typhoon Matmo)

November 2019 begun as Typhoon No. 5 in Vietnam in 2019 (Typhoon Matmo) had just hit Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen causing torrential rains in all the Central Coast of Vietnam and the Central Highlands. Several areas in Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen had been flooded but the water levels of the rivers were getting lower. The first day of the month marked rains in all over Vietnam.

2/ Tropical depression

After Typhoon No. 5, a tropical depression formed in the first week of November 2019 causing torrential rains in the Central Coast.

The North of Vietnam enjoyed a period among the best weather in the first week of November 2019. This is the best time for adventure tours: biking trips, trekking tours and mountain climbing in northern Vietnam.

3/ Typhoon. 6 in Vietnam in 2019 (Typhoon Nakri) 

At the end of the first week of November 2019, Typhoon. 6 in Vietnam in 2019 (Typhoon Nakri) formed and moved in a weird way: eastward and then westward. In the first few days of the second week of November 2019, the typhoon raced towards the shore in the South of the Cenral Coast of Vietnam. The most powerful tropical storm in Vietnam in 2019 so far!

Typhoon No. 6 hit the shore between Binh Dinh and Phu Yen causing violent winds, sea waves and torrential rains across the Central Coast from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa, in the Central Highlands. Lak District of Dak Lak Province was partially flooded due to heavy rains.

4/ Successive renewed spells of Northeasterly Monsoon

Successive renewed spells of Northeasterly Monsoon blew through Northern Vietnam and north of the Central Region of Vietnam bringing the temperatures to much lower level in the affected regions (10-20oC) at mid month. It rained all over for a couple of days. Those travelers who embarked on adventure tours like trekking or biking need to be equipped with warm clothes and raincoats/ponchos.

From mid month till the end of the month the North, the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam enjoyed lovely weather, especially in the North where it is the most beautiful time of the year.

A renewed spell of Northeasterly Monsoon at the end of the month brought the temperatures in the North to lower levels but the weather in the region remained wonderful: sunshine, cool temperatures and dry air. The Central Coast of Vietnam had some sunshine and some nice days given it was amid the rainy season.
