 The Vietnamese authorities have re-acted quickly and in a timely manner to the incident regarding the discovery of patient No. 17. The passengers on the same flight with this person have been contacted and put in quarantine in various cities in Vietnam and so have been the means of transport these persons used. And the people of Vietnam along with the foreign travelers have been in utmost co-operation with the authorities in collective efforts to contain the disease from spreading in the community.

Streets and residential areas, neighborhoods which have had contact with the infected persons have all been completely locked down and disinfectant spray has been carried out in the possibly infected residential areas, tourist boats, aircrafts, restaurants, golf courses, hotels... The people who have been in contact with the infected persons have been in quarantine.

From March 7, 2020 all arrivals into Vietnam are to complete a Health/Medical Declaration Form requesting basic health and medical conditions of the travelers. False health/medical declarations are subject to criminal proceedings. Travelers with abnomal health symptoms are put in quarantine. Travelers coming to Vietnam from infected countries/territories are put in quarantine for 14 days.

Vietnam has stopped all flights to the country from infected countries/regions/cities/territories. Vietnam has also stopped visa exemption policy to several countries which are having the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

All those draconian measures by the Vietnamese authorities and the Vietnamese people are to fight the spread of coronavirus in the country and from Vietnam to other countries. This makes Vietnam a really safe destination, safe home for the Vietnamese nationals as well as foreign visitors. This certainly helps to stop the transmission of coronavirus to the world. Feedback from foreign travelers who are traveling the country and who are in quarantine have been extremely positive. We all feel safe living and traveling in Vietnam for now.
